Precoding and Scheduling for AoI Minimization in MIMO Broadcast Channels

In this paper, we consider a status updating system where updates are generated at constant rate $K$ sources and sent to the corresponding recipients through noise-free broadcast channel. We assume that perfect channel state information (CSI) is available transmitter before each transmission, able utilize CSI precode updates. Our object design optimal precoding schemes minimize summed average age of information (AoI) recipients. Under various assumptions on size update notation="LaTeX">$B$ , number transmit antennas notation="LaTeX">$M$ receive notation="LaTeX">$N$ user, paper identifies age-optimal transmission scheduling strategies. Specifically, for case when notation="LaTeX">$N=1$ round-robin based scheme shown be optimal. For two-user systems with notation="LaTeX">$N>B$ or notation="LaTeX">$M\notin [N:2N]$ framed proven other cases in systems, alternating 2-optimal.
